What to expect

Host starts timer at the beginning of the meeting (5pm, 6pm, or 7pm)

Members scroll independently for the next 30 minutes

Host gives a 5 minute warning & invites members to physically take their phones to their “out of sight, out of mind” spot

Members write the offline activity or task they are going to do after leaving the Zoom meeting in the chat box

Celebration time! You just completed an intentional scrolling session and stayed committed to your screen time goals. Time to feel proud.

Make mindful scrolling a habit

Choose a scrolling session time and commit to only scroll social media during that session.
Sticking to a schedule helps build the habit of mindful scrolling. You can always change to a different scrolling session time later if needed.

Dedicate a box or drawer to serve as your "out of sight, out of mind" spot.
This is where your phone stays whenever you’re not participating in a scrolling session.

Replacing the act of scrolling or “habit-swapping” is key as you take control of your screen time.
Prepare a list of things you enjoy doing offline, hobbies you want to try, events you want to attend, or a list of productive tasks on your to-do list.
For extra follow-through, take time at the beginning of the week to plan which offline activities or hobbies you are going to do each day.
